The company employs a core team of approximately 25 staff and this increases to around 75 during the summer harvest period.

Examples of jobs

Tractor Drivers: experience essential, varying duties from harvester driving, cultivating, driving bin trailers, etc

Forklift Operators: license and experience, duties are moving pallets, stacking and tipping boxes, loading/unloading trucks

Onion Grading Staff: no experience necessary, the work is undercover, hourly rate, sizing and grading onions for sale

Harvest Staff: no experience necessary, can be either on harvester or potato grader, pulling out dirt and greens

Parilla Premium Potatoes is always looking for full time, part time and seasonal staff and we encourage people to contact us if they are planning to come to Australia on a working holiday, although we do expect them to stay with us for at least three weeks work.

Backpackers often make up a large part of the crew during their working holidays as the pay rate is hourly and working hours are guaranteed during the busy harvest period. There is an Accommodation facility located in Parilla, 3.5km away. The facility has six rooms each sleeping two people and features both kitchen and laundry facilities. It is cheap accommodation and is within walking distance to the general store and local pub.

Parilla is a small township located 2 hours east of Adelaide, South Australia. The bigger towns of Lameroo (west) and Pinnaroo (east) are only a short drive away, both have good supermarkets, public facilities and hotels.
